NLA Awards 2025 –  two LHE projects shortlisted

It’s a real delight and source of pride that two of our projects have been shortlisted for the 2025 NLA Awards! These celebrate the best examples of design and placemaking from across London – a city that certainly is not short of excellent community-focused development.

The hugely ambitious Selby Urban Village on the border of Haringey and Enfield, for which Lewis Hubbard Engineering led on civil engineering, is up for two awards. The development as a whole has been shortlisted in the ‘Neighbourhoods and Areas’ category, recognising the scale of the transformation planned for this 1.5 ha site, in which 202 new homes will be delivered alongside revitalised public realm and upgraded community sports facilities. Work on the Selby Centre meanwhile, which will relocate this important civic space to the heart of the site, has been shortlisted in the ‘Culture’ category.

Working in close partnership with Karakusevic Carson Architects and Adams and Sutherland Architects, we have sought to realise a much more welcoming and environmentally-sensitive landscape, one that prioritises play, accessibility and the natural management of rainwater.

Over in Hounslow, it is wonderful to see the Commerce Road development, for which we provided both civil and structural engineering services, included in the shortlist for the housing award. Commerce Road is a key part of the final phase of the Brentford Lock West redevelopment, and will deliver 124 new socially rented homes. Our structural engineering approach prioritised simplicity and robustness, with a focus throughout on reducing the environmental impact of our material choices.
